How To Make Your Wedding Covid Friendly

Cape Town Wedding Planner Tips: How To Make Your Wedding Covid Friendly

In light of current social distancing orders, many couples have organized safe, special ways to say “I do” right now.

Here are a few tips for planning a wedding during the covid pandemic:

Check-In With Your Wedding Vendors:

  • Contact your wedding vendors directly because they will likely have some new health and safety procedures in place.
  • The wedding venue must have all of the details, so it is best to check in with them to make sure how it will be executed on the wedding day and discuss your role in implementing those measures.

Work With Your Wedding Venue:

  • Be clear on guest limitations so that you do not invite too many people.
  • Speak to your wedding venue regarding the rules of masks indoors as well as social distancing.
  • Then you should think about the layout of the area to allow for proper social distancing.
  • Finally, Work with your wedding coordinator to figure out how guests can maintain a safe distance throughout the event by setting up socially distanced dance floors and making sure that tables are two meters apart.

Communicating with guests:

  • Ensure that you have all of your guest’s current contact information.
  • Post updates to your wedding website regarding your wedding plans.
  • Email your guests directly.
  • Send a postponement card to your guests if your wedding details need to be changed after formal communications have been sent out.

Wear Masks:

  • Wearing a mask is one small, simple thing you and your partner can do to help keep your guests as safe as possible.
  • We know the idea of rocking a face covering on your wedding day is not the most exciting, but it does reduce the transmission of Covid.
  • To help you find the perfect face covering, we have put together a list of pretty wedding masks that will look cute in your pictures.

Stock Up on PPE:

  • Provide guests with masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, and any other protective equipment.

Get Creative with Catering:

  • Think of a plan on how the caterers will be making the mealtime as safe as possible, For example, servers wearing masks and gloves at all times.

Taking it Outdoors:

  • Being outside is much safer than gathering indoors because there are more space and airflow. If possible, see if you can plan an outdoor wedding instead of an indoor event.

  • Get someone like your wedding planner or a security team to keep an eye on all guests.
  • This person will then ensure that all guests wear their masks at all times and keep a safe distance. That way, you do not have to stress about confronting people on your wedding day.

Just because we have to be more careful while celebrating with our friends and family, it does not mean that you cannot enjoy your wedding day to the fullest with your loved ones. We wish you all the best for your big day and most importantly stay safe and have fun!
